Location
The Robotics Laboratory is located in E1-130c, which consists of over 600 sq. ft of newly renovated space.
Resources
Current facilities include computation power and software for CAD/CAM, dynamic simulations, and video rendering, two hyper-mobile unmanned ground vehicles, a vacuum chamber, a vehicle-terrain testbed, a pressure-sinkage testbed, laser range finders, force-torque sensors, and a wide range of other mechatronics components. We also have a fish tank thanks to the members of the Biomimetics and Dextrous Manipulation Lab. We have successfully bucked tradition and kept seven six five three fish alive (we added five more! Unfortunately, they're all in fish heaven now, too).
We also have developed Shape Deposition Manufacturing (SDM) capabilities for prototyping and molding and the requisite bench-top equipment for mechatronic work.
We also utilize several of the MMAE department's prototyping capabilites including the CNC HAAS, Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) machine, and Epilog Helix 50 laser cutter.
